About Professor George F. Gao
Professor Gao is a distinguished virologist and immunologist known for his significant contributions to infectious disease research, vaccine development, and antibody engineering. He previously served as the Director-General of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) and has played a pivotal role in global public health initiatives, particularly in the surveillance and control of emerging infectious diseases.
In addition to his leadership in public health, Professor Gao is a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and has held esteemed positions in international scientific organizations, including the World Health Organization (WHO) Advisory Committee. His research has focused on virus-host interactions, structural biology, and the development of novel therapeutic strategies, including antibody-based treatments and vaccines.
With an academic background spanning prestigious institutions such as Oxford University, where he completed his Ph.D., and extensive collaborations with top global research organizations, Professor Gao brings unparalleled expertise to AlpalifeBio.
